Land Stewardship Network

• Land Stewardship 101 – January 15,22,29 and February 5,12, 19 2008
6-week two-hour short course
Classroom discussions and site visits taught by local professionals
Best ag practices: acreage management, ag laws, horticulture, livestock, weeds, trees, water and info on making the most of your investment
Continuing education credits for teachers, realtors and range mgmt pros
Partnership with Routt County Extension

• Land Stewardship 202 – September and October 2008
6-week two-hour short course
Classroom discussions taught by local professionals
Weed control/management/pesticide use, ag tax status, fence laws, livestock nutrition/care/diseases, enterprise alternatives, estate and legal planning, grass and grazing systems

• Provide Networking Between New Landowners – Local Ag Producers
Promote haying, grazing and land-use opportunities
Encourage hiring of local ag producers as managers, lessors
